Boxed Cargantua = Very Happy Collector

Post by shockwavediecast »

I know its far to new for you old folk. But I don't care. Found at Durrants Toy Auction in September along with 2 track sets. I Paid just £22 + Commission for this. And I'd have happily paid £122 for it. Still in kit form, Its just missing one of the stickers from the sheet.

Finally, worked Photobucket out. So see next reply!!

It was released in 1988 I think. Its certainly in the 1988 catalogue. I believe you had to save up the backs of matchbox boxes and then send them in to Matchbox with a cheque to get one

Not quite, when you go to "Links to share this Photo" you want to pick the "IMG" link. That's the one with the html tags for a direct display hotlink.

When you view the number of times people view your posts vs the number of times people view your photos (when you have to click on a link): The first pic, on average, shows about 75% (compared to the amount of views of the post itself) and any remaining pics drop off sharply in number of views. If you want people to see what your are speaking about, a hotlinked photo is the only way to go. Human nature combined with just posting a link will result in many folks not actually seeing any or all of your pics. More photo views results in a better discussion. Not picking on you in particular, just relating a fact known about photo links in an effort to improve the site in general.

Tinman, I'm aware of all the stats, but I'm a huge technophobe. I might be one of the youngest members here, but I don't do modern technology. I hate having a mobile phone, I've never owned a MP3 player. To me the CD is the pinnacle of technology. Even my newest car is 20 year old. So to do what I've just done is a big thing.
