Unfortunately people have cottened on to the cheating mode of putting models like this to higher the price, I have bought about 6 lots this year like this and all have been duds. I suppose if you don't gamble you don't find but the odds are now stacked against us with unscrupulously sellers out there.

Hello Dave and Dick,

I am not sure if you noticed a common thread with the auction. I see that there were 6 or 7 lots each with mint boxed Muir Hill models so I am thinking these may have come from perhaps a Muir Hill staff member. It is not often you see such a group of multiples like Dinky No 962 Muir Hill Dumper, K2 Muir Hill Dumper, Super-King K25 Muir Hill Digger-Plough, Super-King K5 Muir Hill tractor & trailer , MB 2c Muir Hill Dumper and a 2a Muir Hill dumper.
I also wonder if the 2c models were separate to the previous carton finds some 25 years or more ago.

All the best for mint-Boxing day to you both.

Regards
Bert

I saw an obvious repainted yellow prime mover in a lot go for more than it should have but there were a few repainted models in the lot so really should have be obvious, just a kids collection who wanted yellow models, but i do tend not to gamble has much as i used to,mainly i need fewer models and have no space,i will go after the odd spot on model and i also have bratched out a bit ,i landed a sunroofless blue redline beetle and was amazed at the resell price, paid for the whole lot and then some so it can be done just you have to pick your battles then the lots you can,t see everything these are a real gamble but thats the fun of collecting i really do like the hunt :D
beetle lot (notice the nice spot on morris 1100),and spot on security van

I saw the common muir hill thread in the lots and it didn,t seem ex shop stock more ex factory to me too, especially with the blue tractor prototype in lot 562,the decal on the side could be lesney but hard to gauge a real size off a photo like i said got outbid but glad with what i got :D
