Hi all,
I posted this model here a few years back, but I can't find the old topic about it, from what I recall, I think most people believed it to be genuine, but some did say fake!
The reason for me re-posting is to get some new opinions on it's authenticity, as I have now listed the model for sale, and I am getting various comments, from plain old suspicion, some say that it's a fake, and one person telling me that the variation does not even exist!, but what is bugging me the most that I'm personally being accused of making a fake model...not happy.
I do not believe it to be fake, as I purchased it a few years back with some train stuff, from Ebay USA, I think I paid around $100-120 for all the train stuff and a few matchbox models, so there was no reason for the seller to fake it, as there was nothing to be gained by them, and the seller was just a second hand dealer, not specializing in toys etc.
I'm happy to supply more photos if required, and, (if it matters) the photos were taken indoors, under a fluorescent light.
I look forward to hearing all opinions, good and bad, and if it does turn out to be declared fake, then that will be disappointing, but no financial loss for me ( I remember selling the train stuff for around $200 anyway).
Thanks,
Jason Main

Re: 6b with GPW
A couple of observations:
1) Both axles are over long. (Not necessarily an issue. This does seem to occur occasionally, especially on oddities.)
2) The tipper shaft (biff rivet) appears to be painted (in the body colour?).If so, that is wrong for this model.

Thanks for the reply
I think they were the same two issues when I posted a few years back,
The rivet appears to be painted, but it's a thin coat of paint, if that makes sense? as If it was painted separately, or it's overs pray, but the paint is an even coat all over the rivet,
Regards, Jason

Its the Fourth picture down that says it for me with those barely 'Burred' axle-ends and the actual finish of them...to me they don't look very Lesney.
