as far as I can remember I never had the balloon but I had it around 1973/4 . I probably had it second hand from a jumble sale :lol:

Do you know, in all my years of collecting Matchbox i have never seen the underside of one of these Zoomies, Thanks for showing!! :)

The Zoomy Balloonies are from the Superfast era and have Superfast wheels, but they formed a separate series of their own outside the Matchbox Miniatures - which serves as an excuse for many of us not to collect them.

Anyway they are not often seen in general, so I suppose they did not sell too well originally, and they were available for a short period of time only.

I remember them from the 1973 pocket catalogue, but I do not remember seeing them at any stores back then, and I have never found any at local flea markets, so I believe they may not even have been sold over here.
