The Matchbox Originals go true "Vintage."

Post by Tinman »

I love the "Matchbox Originals" castings, they were such well done castings. Here's the MGA done in a realistic off white, with a red base/seats and the driver done in realistic paint. Real gray plastic wheels replace the horrible bright metal ones. It could pass for the real thing! Sorry about the poor lighting in the pics.

Would be nice to see some of these just with original wheels added keeping their Chinese paint!

Nice job!
It was the release of these "Originals" that sparked my interest in collecting Matchboxes again back in the 1990's.
Then in 2006 I noticed my childhood memories listed on eBay, all hell broke loose.
