This is one of these situations where my lack of experience and lack of models for comparison is proving a real hindrance. I tend to check every new model against Nick's site, but sometimes I think there's no substitute for having something in the hand.
I just received this Lotus and tried to find it on the variation table. It has decal guides, I think the text is mixed (see last photo) and it has the long exhaust bracket, my problem is the axle rings. It seems to me to have them on one side only at the front and the opposite side only at the rear. It has occurred to me that this could be down to playwear, in which case it would be an orange version of Variation 1a. It has also occurred to me that due to my lack of knowledge I'm underestimating just how obvious the axle rings are and my car doesn't have any. Finally, maybe I've just got a funny one......................

Re: 19 Orange Lotus Axle Rings
Hi Ewan.
This one does seem to be an oddball, Clearly it only has half of the axle rings cast in, possibly it was made when the modifications to add the axle rings we only half done, very confusing,

It has just occurred to me that playwear seems unlikely. Plastic wheel wearing out metal casting.........
