LED Lighting in the Toy Room

Hi all,
Finally got round to starting fitting LED lights in the Toy Room. The Sunsolar strips I've used are dimmable by bank,and remember the last setting when switched off.
I've still got to paint the trunking and mount the switches on the upright to lose the mess on top of the cabinet, then the upright glass cabs are going to get 2 x 500mm strips each too, but the difference is amazing!

Bob it's well worth it, the running costs alone will pay for the fittings in a few years. I was going to mount the fittings inside the wall cabs, but there was too much shadowing, so I ceiling mounted them instead. They are designed to go under kitchen cabinets. The upright cabs will get them mounted with double sided number plate tape to the underside of the glass shelves.

LED is not enough lighting for me.
I prefer Halogen. Much better lighting.
The lamps are only on when I (or a collector visitor) want to see the models in the cabinets.

There is LED lighting in our shared entrance hall. When there is mail from the postman, I can hardly read the text on the envelopes, even with glasses on.

Your displays looks nice by the way.

Very nice collection Chris, I have done the LED lights from the inside of the display case.

That's probably what I would need,on some cabinets.

The problem with cabinets is you have to light every shelf as the models above block light to those below or stick the light at the sides. Ikea do those little rows of stick on LEDs which are ideal but on every small set you get their built in transformer to hide away. I now use swivel downlights in the ceiling that I can angle to shine on the cabinet front and works ok.
Marcel, with halogen you use a lot of electric and they get very hot. If you get cool white LEDs instead of warm white they are very bright and I only use 9watt ones - 6 9w downlights in my large lounge lights the whole room up so not sure why yours are dim (3 w maybe)
The good thing is there is very little heat with LED which is great for models, halogens near a model will melt the tyres !

I would paint the ceiling white. That dark green absorbs a lot of light.
