Re: Lady Penelope's "FAB I" Rolls-Royce.
The new 2015 'Thunderbirds Are Go' series has been on British TV screens for a few Months now and a range of tie-in toys has hit the shops courtesy of 'TAKARA-TOMY' and the new "FAB 1" model is part of the range.
At 80 x 39 x 27, it is in a similar size to the Matchbox model and should be out in the shops ready for Christmas, but does it look like the car we see on TV...
...yes, pretty much, but will you be buying one?

This should be a nice model then - Takara-Tomy otherwise known as Tomica - still make very nice quality models. Not usually available these days outside the far East - Japan, China etc. I look forward to seeing a better picture once you get a hold of yours Ghosty. Will be interesting to see if any of these hit the mainstream toystores in Australasia, or whether specialist hobby shops end up having to import them instead.
Cheers,
Gavin

Thank's Gavin.
I will post a picture of the actual model here when available, because as you may have guessed the example shown above is a 'Pre-Production', looking as if it is possibly made of resin.

I have now got hold of the new "FAB 1" model by 'TAKARA-TOMY'.
It is not as big as I originally thought it was from the dimensions given on Takara's website, but still a decent size for the many '3 incher' collectors. I paid just £7 for the example shown in the above pictures and I am quite happy with it and it has now joined the many other "FAB 1" models in my collection.

Thank's Reg, a lot of my current pictures are of low definition as they are taken at night under artificial tube lighting and while the Camera has compensated, it struggles to produce a sharp image as it introduces certain artifacts like the colour noise you can see if you zoom into one of the images.

I ment it's a wonderful small scale model ,not you're pictures are c£@p ,I don't think many images would do it justice
BTW all my pictures are now being taken on a Samsung S6 phone using some led lighting instead of flash

Something new for Ghosty?
I finally bought the 1:43 FAB 1 from the Japanese brand AMIE, after having noticed them a year ago. I think it's very nicely done but nothing beats a rocket-firing toy from the childhood.
Prices start at around £60 including shipping although some dealers want £100 and more. Here with the Dinky and Matchbox for a size comparison.
AMIE have also produced a 1:18 version but that's a bit too large for my taste.

Sad Day for Lady Penelope fans..Sylvia Anderson, best known as the voice of Lady Penelope in the TV show Thunderbirds, has died after a short illness, her family has confirmed.
Anderson co-created the hit science-fiction puppet series, which ran from 1965, with her late husband Gerry.
In a career spanning five decades, she also worked on shows Joe 90 and Captain Scarlet, and for US TV network HBO.
She died at her Buckinghamshire home. Her daughter said she was "a mother and a legend", who would be sadly missed.
"Her intelligence was phenomenal but her creativity and tenacity unchallenged. She was a force in every way," Dee Anderson said.

Corgi have re-issued their diecast "FAB 1" in a new box now showing the 'CLASSIC' symbol, but no changes that I can see have been done to the model, not even the addition of the 'Silver Lady' mascot.
Unfortunately the model can not be removed from the inner stand because of the type of 'Cable Ties' they have used, once cut to remove the model the model can not be re-secured, you'll have to buy Two models and leave one mint in box.
Lets hope this is not the last we see of 'HORNBY HOBBIES' with their current financial status!
