I get a huge buzz from finding any htf or rare model, however I get pretty much no pleasure from owning them. I've gradually come to the conclusion I am a useless collector but love being a 'finder'.......

I'm with Fixer on this one: for me, the finding is a huge thrill, but, although I don't have a big display, the organizing and sorting of the models brings me great pleasure.
Plus reading the RW threads and interesting tangents on VBD!
Happy hunting!

It's great to find that HTF model - but organising/reorganising, going through Nick's variation updates, photographing and changing displays is as much fun as the hunt. I'm constantly amazed at the variations that are out there and the eagle eyed collectors who keep finding new ones.

My buying has slowed to a crawl but the fun of the hunt never goes away.

I have to agree I love finding models that I need for my collection, amazing what is still out there. Although I seemed to have gone off at a tangent to the main regular wheel collection, but this is mainly due to how hard to find some of the variations are.
Dan puts the effort in and gets his rewards, maybe I should try a bit harder. :D .
Problem is the list seems to be getting longer instead of shorter. :(
Goodluck to all you collectors out there and I hope you find those gems you need. J

Yes Finding rare variations is a very fun task to do, Today I just got a #25 Blue ARAL Tanker and a #32 leyland petrol tanker with a white grille

Dont we all love the chase of htf & rare models that comes with the tears of excitement & sometimes with tears of disappointments & pain. Our conquests sometimes overrides our mindset & wants and i am just as guilty.
