German collector/seller ??

Post by numi »

Hi All,
Ive always admired some of this sellers models but a few models recently strained my eyes.
Is this seller a forum member or is he known by other members on here.
What are your opinions on this particular specimen.

I was trying to think if these coarse tread GPW were even in use at the time the 6A was within the range. The 6B replaced the 6A in 1959.
The 15B was the first thing I could think of that had those same GPW used. It started within the range in 1959.
I suppose there could have been a time toward the end of the 6As life within the range where those GPW would have been around the factory.
But then those crimps look a bit suspect to me. Almost to long or extended.

Wire wheel GT with tow guide , I would not be happy with those crimped axles.
But looking at the feedback the buyer is happy.

I don't like the look of the crimps on that GPW 6a.

They (those axle crimps) remind me of the crimps on a certain 6b with GPW. That model was owned and sold by a former member and when the axle ends were challenged (here on the forum), it caused a firestorm posts and complaints by that member. The buyer ended up returning the model and the reason was "non-factory axle crimps."
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

I've sold some restored models to a collector with a very similar name. If you have an address we can compare notes and see if it's the same person.

Heres another! This is the 3rd Yellow GPW Dumper specimen that he is selling.
This guy is one to be wary of.

Do these look like Lesney axle-ends, with the strange (for Lesney), central moulding line across the face...!!

They definitely don't look right to me. I have never seen a straight line across rivet ends before. I've seen chunks out and grooving from the centre out but not these type.

I watched many of his auctions. He had some htf, rare and ultra rare models for sale, and the buyer's were always happy.
I agree with you regarding your opinions on the listed models in this thread. But I can't imagine that he sells this models purposely (without mention of it) as fakes.
His listings in ebay are always very accurate and he also runs this Website http://www.hgm-matchbox.de/default.htm.
By the way: This is a good website for making some comparison on models from different ranges. And he also uploaded many RW and SF catalogues, which is a good source, too.

He may doesn't know better regarding the mentioned models. But otherwise it seems that he is an experienced collector and should be able to decide on axle ends...hmpf :?

Greetings,
Linus
