A new week and a new crop of restos & customs

Post by Tinman »

A new week and a new crop of models!

A rare gray wheel imposter.

I never get tired of playing with the Mercedes truck.

This Cadillac came out super nice, right down to the crimson base.

Not quite the conversation piece as last weeks green variation. The gold trim is pretty hard to find.

Right out of the pages of the 1959/1960 catalog.

A sweet dark green plastic wheel 17b.

Anyone like Major Packs?

I love these "Matchbox Originals" models. This one shed the blister pack and then tossed off that dark blue for the first issue blue. Some salvaged vintage wheels finish off the conversion.

This little guy just came out of the upholstery shop.

I have to print these decals on white decal paper to make them work. Printing them is easy, cutting them out is a real pain in the behind.

Another well presented set of models Joe and yes, I like the Major Packs especially that Tank transporter and it's Rolls-Royce powered cargo, sheer brute force with top notch British engineering created that combination beautifully modeled by Lesney, thank's for showing them.

As you may know, it's a tank that proved itself in combat. The six day war was feather in the cap of the Centurion and those who manned it. Not taking any sides, just making a comment about the performance of the tank itself.

I make my own "mask" for the two tone models like the Cadillac. It helps to recreate that ever so slight overspray that the Lesney masks caused.

The Centurion also did well in the Yom Kippur War against greater odds.
Nice work Tinman.
