Does anybody know if this is from a gift set? the only reason i ask is that the made in great britain is blanked out!!

Appears to be Made in China with no country of origin and wheels like that. Some Corgi giftset issues had the Corgi name removed however the country of origin law still applied when Corgi produced in the UK

That particular wheel design was used on Chinese production from the early 1990's and at this time Corgi were still actively involved in supplying toys to other marketing companies in deals very similar to those promotions at British Home Stores and St Micheals retailers in the UK and maybe the intended distributor of this and other models with it, could not show country of manufacture due to contractual agreements.

That lemon curd sandwich stripe is a bit too arched along the flank so I'd also reckon on an early Chinese production.
