Be sure to pass on my best wishes to Horace next time you visit him Kevin.
Ecclesley, I believe Horace wrote the Yesteryear section in the Matchbox 40 year book.

Sorry Nick you are wrong in that.nickjones wrote:Be sure to pass on my best wishes to Horace next time you visit him Kevin.

Horace wrote many articles about Yesteryears in the MICA magazine and all articles about Yesteryears for the Diecast Collector magazine.
Horace did not write for the 40th years book.
He was envolved with the white Yesteryear so called bible books.

Thanks Marcel.
I knew Horace was involved with some of the Yesteryear publications, Just not the 40 year book.

Re: Horace Dunkley in Hospital.
I would like to propose we have a section named after Him, the same as we have with Mr Wolfie Ginsburg, can you please consider this Nick, even if it means just adding His name to the current 'Yesteryears' section.

Very sad news, indeed!
He has been one of the most influential MOY collectors of all times.
When I started collecting MOY as a newbie long time ago, his MICA articles and The White Book led me the way into "real" MOY collecting!
Thanks a lot, Horace!!!

Having reflected on this, I find that I have to disagree. There is no comparison: Wolfie was an active Member of this Forum who made many contributions to many threads. To the best of my knowledge (and please do not hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong) the late Mr. Dunkley, although well known in certain circles, was neither a member of this Forum nor of Lefora. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh or insensitive, but if we are to memorialise people, let's memorialise "our own" rather than simply everyone.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:I would like to propose we have a section named after Him, the same as we have with Mr Wolfie Ginsburg, can you please consider this Nick, even if it means just adding His name to the current 'Yesteryears' section.

Whilst I am saddened to hear of Horace Dunkleys passing I have to agree with Hughs comments above.
