Hi all.
I got this oddity some time ago as a gift from that jolly nice chap Mick Flack of Matchboxmemories / Moyboys fame, From what I can remember Mick told me it came from the Lesney factory via a friend who was an engineer at the factory. (maybe you could fill in the details Mick)
The Milk Float does not have horse shafts, it is painted off white and has large metal wheels without numbers although one wheel is silver plastic. The horse is not made by Lesney but its a Charbens product and it is attached to the float by a brass wire which connects it to the front axle,
I had assumed it was an old broken toy which someone had taken to work to repair for one of their children but while I was unpacking it to mount in a display case in the boat I noticed the shaft across the front where the horse shafts would normally attach, It was much thicker and wider than usual so now I'm beginning to wonder if it might actually be a very late modification / trial piece that never made it into production.
Sorry for the poor quality photos, I'll get some more when I have a late issue float with the two small extensions to the sides of the horse shafts to compare it with.

That is a very interesting float you have there Nick. It would be very welcome in my display case. Congratulations on getting it.
