My first visit to Brentwood toy fair was fun, it was a boiling hot Day, easy parking and I met up with Reg ("Fixer") to execute a pre-arranged deal. After our high profile deal, Reg and I went round the toy fair for some delectible models, not a lot to get excited about but Reg did pick up a nice White Corgi Rover with the 'Take Off' wheels which I also fancied, but he picked it up first so it was his for the taking, too hot to fight over it and Reg is a teeny bit bigger than me...!

I know he secured a couple more models but I am sure he will show them in His own thread elsewhere on the forum.

For me, I found a few really cheap Silver Ghost models from the 'Yesteryear' range, the dearest price wise was one of the pale Green models in a good box at £5, but it was a stallholder I know, so it was mine for a mere £2, I wanted the box more than the model but I will ceck the model against my listing just in case it turns out to be a variation I have not recorded.

There is another Green model in a similar box and yet another Green model without a box, these Two together cost just £6. There was a later 'Yesteryear' Rolls-Royce which was just £1.50, but I would have brought it if it was £31.50, because it is one of the hard to find 'Transitional' models made up from parts from Two separate ranges and even though one rear wheel is broken, it was worth securing as I never expected to see one of these in a 'Play Worn' condition, they are always in mint in box condition and fetch a premium price.

That's about it for this visit, oh, there is one more model in the picture, I'll tell you more about that one later.

Mmmnnn now i am a little intrigued......from what i can see you have an early issue #24 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with the lighter metallic red paint, normal wheel arches (not flared) and 11 x 2 mm thin 5 slot wheels with the trim line. What am i not seeing....are the wheels 10.5 x 2mm?

OH THAT ONE!

Yes, well spotted Alex, at long last I have got myself a really good condition #24 Rolls-Royce with Narrow solid 'Superfast' wheels, low wheel-arch and the 'Trim-Strip' along the body sides.

I have to convey an enormous thank you to Reg ("Fixer"), for helping me secure such a nice example and as part of a very complicated multi-model swapping session, I believe Reg now has another 'Lone-Star' Firenza to add to his collection.

More pictures of the Rolls-Royce soon.

Congratulations to both of you, i am very surprised that you didnt already have an example Kevin so i am delighted to hear that you have a very nice example in your collection now. I am also pleased the Reginald has added a Lone-star to his collection. :D :D

Kevin can you confirm if your wheels are 11 or 10.5 x2? in the image they look smaller but it is hard to tell.

Did i mention that i have one of those #24 with trim line? :D :D

Here's the link Kevin but unfortunately mine has flared wheel arches. I am actualy chuffed to bits as this means that my #24 collection is now needing another addition......happy hunting as they say!!

I am going to have to watch my back here, because it seems there are several forum members who are collecting Rolls-Royce models and from pictures and comments already posted, their collections are becoming worryingly large... :!:
