Found at the NAMAC swapmeet

For me last Saturday's NAMAC was Matchbox/Lesney hunting, here my catch:

So we have a King Size DAF car transporter in the back with three #44B Rolls Royce PV's on the top deck. All for restoration.


Next comes the accessory pack Bedford car transporter in blue, a mint example which I bought on my way to the NAMAC. On the top deck #44A Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and a #33a Ford Zodiac. Down below a 32b Jag E-type.

The €1 major pack M4 Fruehauf Hopper Train (half of it) serves as a donor car; the very good wheels will be transferred to the DAF car transporter.

Yet another 44B Phantom V in a brown-ish color and the blue #25a Dunlop Bedford van.

Both MOY Bugatti models have wheel issues, the € 1 blue one serves as a donor car for the much better red one, who will go nicely with the MOY Bentley models in my collection.

The decals obviously for 2 Bedford car transporters which I am currently giving a code 3 treatment.

The #K5 king size racing car transporter arrived by mail on Saturday, and that one will get a special treatment as well.

Originally I wanted to do a Jag racing transporter in some way or another, but I have decided against it.
The Jag is a bit small for the transporter so I have changed my mind. It will become something quite different, which I will keep secret.

Aw we don't like secrets here, OK then, I reckon it will be converted into a flatbed recovery vehicle by cutting away the sides and you'll put Rolls-Royce on the back...!

Perish the thought. A Rolls Royce does not break down, 'it fails to proceed'.............
No the secret will not be unzipped, you will have to wait a while.

In the mean time I'll show you my DAF car transporter with some fine British cars on it.
Those Oxford Diecast models are lovely don't you think so Kevin?

...I do Gerrit, the recent models from Oxford Diecast are among the best in the World considering the scales they work to, a different story to what they used to be making while they were manufacturing for Corgi in Swansea and their close working relationship with Lledo in Enfield.

The team who brought Oxford to market were working at Corgi making the last British made model with a CORGI name on the base, the Toyota Celica Supra. Oxford would in fact move into the vacated Corgi factory when they went through one of their closures in the early 1990's. Oxford made the 'CAMEO' range for Corgi and Lledo collectors will recognize the Oxford Morris Bullnose Van, the first 'OXFORD DIECAST' model, as it is the same as the Lledo version.

Oxford started out as 'OXFORD COLLECTIBLES' in 1993, with a large product line similar to some of the well established toy makers in the 1960's with plastic toys, Teddy Bears, Dolls and board games. The parent company is 'LCD ENTERPRISES LTD'.

I am pretty confident there could be toy fairs (swapmeets), organised in or near your area, as from the contributors of the Two best Matchbox models based forums in the World, there are a lot of collectors in Australia, just needs someone with access to a small sports hall or community centre and the means of getting in contact with other collectors (the Two best forums in the World is a good start!), get those collectors to sort out models from their collections they don't really need anymore agree some opening and closing times and send out some flyers to the local shops and public areas to attract the customers. You must charge a small entry fee to put towards the cost of hiring the hall for a Day and your Family or friends can organize refreshments.

I personally do not know of any dealers or traders in Australia (any over there Mick?), who would like to be involved, but an internet search may be helpful regards this.
