Penrith

Post by Moyboy »

The local Penrith swapmeet was very good to me this month - no MOYs but some nice Regs for a change at very decent prices (ave$5-10 each)

The 27 with black & silver wheels, 20 with silver wheels, 65 in metallic red, silver wheels and clear windows and 57 with black wheels. Can see no difference in the 2 31s apart from a light and dark shade difference on the maroon bases. Just have to find some missing plastic parts for the mint Rentaset van now.

What a buy Mick . Is that a brown #27 Caddy again ? But this time with a black base ? I have only seen them with crimson bases. If that's a brown caddy with a black base you have done very very well my friend. So well it is not a listed variation. Gaz

Not sure what the brown looks like but if I compare the 2 the nearest I can come up with is the Y7 Mercer in lilac and the one in silver. This one looks silver to me compared to the lilac one, even the underneath and almost matches the silver trim. Would this be sun fade as I'm not great on Regular wheel shades but doesn't look it to me. I'll have to watch out or I may have to get one of your display stands now I've started on the slippery slope - a mans got to collect something and I'll be buggered if I can find any MOY on sale that I want lately.

Ok checked out Nick's site and came up with this silver grey, Trim type 1, Bonnet type 1, green tinge to windows and 9 x24 silver plastic wheels ( what a bloody job looking inside the wheel arch to find out bonnet type - you guys are nuts !! ) Would fit in Nick's list between 6 / 7

The one that Garry (moko) thought was Brown is not, it is more like the colour on the right of these three, the one in the middle is the Brown one.

There are two Brown models in the little collection of mine.

Thanks George , In the first picture it looks brown beside the standard colour model . Mick , It gets a bit nuts at times . Once you are on the slippery slope its all over for you .(and your budget ) It is so hard (near impossible) buying from ebay when you are looking for that internal variation. Ask the seller about the rear post and the most common answer is ?. A little variation not mentioned on the caddy is the rear door handles. I had mentioned it on the old forum. It appears all models can have rear door handles or not . So all variation tables including Stannards can most likely be doubled . Antonin may be able to verify this . Gaz
