Tough to add much exciting to the #54 models. You've covered all the bases once again George.

Greg is being modest as usual. He's got some conversation pieces in that collection of his, even if they are customs.matchbox_n_molars wrote:Tough to add much exciting to the #54 models. You've covered all the bases once again George.

Re: Casting #54
How negligent of me Tinman! Yes, you better believe ALL of those Widow's Society customs have remained together and remain appreciated. My brain simply never strayed outside of the traditional original offerings.
For those confused, these custom "Widow's Society" variations on the 54B Cadillac Ambulance were considered as a possible fund-raiser during the happier and healthier days of the MCCH. The idea was that the wives of crazy Matchbox collectors, the so-called "Widows", would have a custom model made as a tribute to their tolerance. Tinman was the one doing the heavy lifting with all of these customs.
As I recall the variables that resulted in this project going by the way-side were some of the early symptoms of the type of dysfunction that ultimately pulled that once very useful venue down the drain.

My apologies to George for adding this near blasphemy content to his excellent thread.

Very nice example of a HTF item. I believe Nick is chasing some casting details on this variation as was idris in the Missing & unlisted 1-75 RW Variations section. Can I suggest you post this pic along with the casting details in the Missing & unlisted 1-75 RW Variations.
Great find.
