It does look good, despite having some concern over how much Grey paint is sitting in the rivet, maybe it is just the picture creating the effect, otherwise a very nice example and well done for finding that one Numi.

way to go numi...great find!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.
Re: #3b Bedford Tipper with Grey Base - Nick's Code-1
The whole point is that the baseplate was riveted to the chassis prior to painting, hence the painted rivet, c.f. 4c, 10c, 36b, 66b.On all other versions, the baseplate was painted separately (in black) and then attached to the chassis.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:It does look good, despite having some concern over how much Grey paint is sitting in the rivet, maybe it is just the picture creating the effect, otherwise a very nice example and well done for finding that one Numi.

Idris forgot to pass on his compliments in the midst of explaining the initial assembly & painting processIdris wrote:The whole point is that the baseplate was riveted to the chassis prior to painting, hence the painted rivet, c.f.

Re: #3b Bedford Tipper with Grey Base - Nick's Code-1
So if the baseplate is in other colours such as the Black we more often see on this model, the rivet would also be Black, if I have read the comment from "Idris" correctly.Idris wrote:The whole point is that the baseplate was riveted to the chassis prior to painting, hence the painted rivet, c.f.
So how are the rivets on these Two (forum source image), in Grey, not Black, not sure I understand what is going on here. GHOSTHUNTER.
