Can't resist sharing some photos to further flesh out your "57" lineup George.

There has been some dissension with regard to whether or not there "really" were gold trimmed 57a Wolseley models. Here are the two I've got and you can choose for yourself.



I mentioned before that the 57b Impala is my favorite of all the toys from the regular wheel range. I looked long and hard across the years to collect variations on this one.
Somehow I've managed to acquire three examples of the rare models with a dark blue base, but 9x20 gray plastic wheels.



Before you get angry with me for not sharing these treasures, you need to understand that they are all DIFFERENT!
I was thrilled when I was able to purchase my first example from Connecticut collector Ethan Enser but I was surprised when the model arrived with CLEAR plastic wheels, an unlisted variation. (On the left in this photo)



A couple of years later I quite by chance spotted an ebay auction out of Australia that I could tell was a peculiar variation as well. It too is an unlisted variation in that the body features the wider window pillars. (On top in this picture)



It wasn't until late last year that I found the third model (the green window example two photos up). This one is exactly as you see it listed in Stannard or within Nick's resource page. It has the dark blue base, 9x20 GPW, green windows, and the early body with the narrow window posts.

The final photo is a 57c Land Rover with GPW.

You need to look out for the silver plastic windscreens, they're very elusive.

With so many variations around its no surprise some collectors go 'Off the Rails' and their senility is corrupted. Can I suggest Gavin makes an appointment to visit his local healthcare centre (broken down collectors department), or visit...'Collectaware.com' before it is too late and he starts selling off His collection for silly money...!
