A List!

Post by brainstrust »

Hi there, does anyone have a list of all RWs and variations that they are happy to share?
I was going to make my own up so I can "tick" off models as I got them but thought I would ask first.

Many thanks

Hello Braintrust.
There are several commercially available books that will give you the listing of the '1-75 Series' models with 'Regular' wheels, there are websites that can also do this, but the list is going to be very long once you have added the known recorded variations of each 'Base' model, and so far as I know, a listing of this type has to be the landscape format book by 'Stannard', not currently being printed, but available on occasions on the internet after a bit of searching.

The listing I have shown here as Two pages, will give you some idea how large the list will be...

...on this listing above are the 'Base' models, this represents the first versions of each model issue, the listing does not include any variations so we would have to add another Three or Four additional models to each 'Base' model, in some cases there are many more variations of a 'Base' model and after many Years of collecting, new variations are still being found, so we are not yet at a point where we can say we have a complete listing!

To check variations recorded by this forum, you can click here...http://www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk ... series.htm and just click on the model number for the 'Regular' wheel model you want.

I see your point, thanks for that.
I'm only interested in certain variations and I thought I could just delete from the list what I wasn't interested in but it's probably easier just to start with the basic list and add the variations that interest me to each one. Generally my variations would be limited to clear different colours and probably different wheels. Slightly different castings or different base plates, different axles etc don't interest me. Take the 13d for example, unless it's a reverse colour no variations interest me. The 11c, all I want is one all yellow and one with the red crane base. Anyways thanks for the advice, I might just start creating my own and see how far I get!!!

Don’t forget the corporate yellow/non-corporate yellow colour variation. Difficult (but not impossible) to spot online and different enough to look good on the shelf!

It can be a minefield and worth thinking through first. I must admit that I like the different colour hooks and label/decal variations on the 13d because I think they look good on display.

There's just too many
I won't turn anything away but I won't go searching for them all. My brain is almost full as it is :ugeek:

Yeah I agree - happy to collect one of each - only the ones I like. Repro or original - don't care.
