Hi all,
I do not collect Husky models as seriously as Pre 1970 Matchbox, but nevertheless my collection is growing rapidly. I am not documented at all and I noticed that some models have different model numbers whether they are in Red Blisterpack or Yellow Blisterpack. For example, I acquired the #90 Ford Transit (instead of #40) and #52 Citroen Safari (instead of #2). Do I simply add 50 and expect all the models to be released also in this high number range (51,52,53....). The Husky guide on this site does not mention this.
Is there anywhere a checklist for Husky models released in red blisters, then another in yellow blisters ?
Help !
Many Thanks,
Pat

Re: Husky renumbered models
Please share a photo of the Transit. Special blisters for USA came with different numbers just in that short period before rebranding to Juniors after the exclusive Woolworths deal ended
Re: Husky renumbered models
Only on the yellow blisters you can find the range of Husky models listed with simply added 50 to the normal numbers.
The red blisters only exist with numbers 1-36 because these were earlier and yellow blisters exist with numbers 1-43 or
51-93 (higher numbers for american market with 49c price added!). The yellow blisters with numbers 1-43 also
exist with 47c price, these were made (if i remember correctly) for the canadian market?!?! Yellow blisters came around 1968.
I dont know a official checklist for red blisters or yellow blisters, except the list of my own collection which is very big,
depending on all the red blisters with different numberlists backcards!
Hope that helps! Always fun to see other husky collectors coming in.....

please have a look in this forum for old posts. I think on side 2 you can find post of my yellow cards and red cards displays.
Perhaps this helps.

Thanks for the info.
Could you also shed some light on the numbering of the Extra models? 1000s, 1200s, 1400s - where were those numbers sold? And why the different numbers when most 1000s and 1400s cards don't show a price anyway, only the 1200s are always with a preprinted price in c or $ (but are these U.S. dollar prices or maybe Canadian?). Some early 1000s cards show a British price (2/10) but later 1000s do not - were Huskys also sold with 1000s numbers in other countries or were the 1400s for the "rest of the world"?

Re: Husky renumbered models
Thanks for the info.
Since I understand that there is not really any guide or checklist for variations vs blisterpacks (red or yellow, renumbered or not!), maybe I will find sometime in the future to build one, when I'll run out of project on the Vintage Lesney Online site !
Cheers

Re: Husky renumbered models
For the extra numbers its hard to find a system of distribution or regional delivery.
On the first 1000´s numbers you´ll find english early prices like 2/10 or 3/3 and american or canadian prices like 59c
or 69c, but also without prices pre-printed.
The 1200´s numbers were mostly with 59c or 69c pre-printed, perhaps i have to look into my catalogues
(US and Canada edition) to see the different prices???
The 1400´s numbers are mainly without any prices pre-printed, i only found them with regional price stickers.
And, i observed the internet the last years which numbers lines pops up in which countries, and i cant find a
system in that numbers. An old shopstock where found in Italy with 1000´s numbers a few years ago, that speaks
against the 1400´s for rest of the world. I received a big shopstock from Berlin years ago, mostly with 1000´s
numberpacks, but also with a few 1400´s numberpacks!?!
So i think, if some cars where sold out by Mettoy, they have deliverd what they have in stock! Regardless what number
lines were planned for the different markets...! Only money talks!
