This is an interesting model with a large number of htf/rare variations:
- pale green,
- maroon with gold trim,
- maroon with spare wheel 9technically an error piece), and
- GPW.
Furthermore, very recently a GPW example was found with r/a rather than c/a.
If this GPW 20a is now yours, well done! They are htf.
You might find it interesting to read Nick's catalogue page for this model.

Nice find indeed with those gray plastic wheels. And typically, like this one, the side tanks usually do NOT have any trim paint on these gray wheeled examples.

The best think about these GPW versions is that they are very often overlooked by sellers. A combination of sharp eyes and patience therefore means that one can be bought on Ebay comparatively cheaply.

A very nice find. I wasn't aware of the lack of trim on these.

coincidently I picked one up at Sandown today a little playworn and the rear axle is a little bent but ok for £8

First post: I picked this gpw stake truck up at an auction earlier this year. I haven't seen the variation listed anywhere. The body color is midway between maroon and red and it has gold trim. Also in the photo is the std maroon mw version as well as the red gpw version. Any feedback appreciated.

Interesting, not only for the body colour, but because the tanks are trimmed (which, as Greg has previously pointed out, is not normally the case for a GPW example).ozboxrox wrote:First post: I picked this gpw stake truck up at an auction earlier this year. Having said that, gold-trimmed 20a have MW, whilst the GPW examples are silver-trimmed. Putting 2 and 2 together (and quite possibly making 5), I'm wondering whether we might not have a clever repaint/restoration here. Could we have some close-ups of the axle crimpings, please?
It would also be interesting to have Antonin's comments on the intermediate shades known on this model.
