Hi,

They are talking about the numbers cast on the door and not the base of the model. There will be several different molds for the door and each one will have a different number cast on the inside.

My modell has the casting number 3 on the inside of the door.
Johnboy wrote about a door with casting number 3 as well.
The difference is the size of the letters even though both parts have the same casting number.

I am guessing here, but the modification to the registration letters on the rear door would not cause any problems during production, so there was no need to change the tooling number, it could stay the same, but if the hinge design were to be modified, then the tooling number may well be changed.

Have managed to look at the only Three models I have and the index plate and tooling numbers are as follows...

No tooling number, LARGE index plate digits, Narrow solid 'Superfast' wheels.
#1 tooling number, SMALL index plate digits, Wide 'Superfast' wheels.
#4 tooling number, LARGE index plate digits, Narrow solid 'Superfast' wheels.

My 2 examples are:

Off white body, without number on tailgate, LARGE index plate digits (letters and numbers almost filling all the space inside protruding frame), pale blue W, thin (2mm) solid SF wheels.
Off white body, with number 2 on tailgate, SMALL index plate digits (letters and numbers gathered in the center inside protruding frame), darker blue W, medium (4mm) SF wheels.
