I have seen pictures of Four examples from different sources at different times, so are unlikely to be the same one in all Four pictures.

I can't remember the detail but didn't Christain do something amazing and discover two in quick succession (or am I delirious)?

Yes, he did. he found two on the same day at Houten.
As regards rarity, this is certainly rare rather than htf. However, I believe that there are a significant number known to exist making it one of the more common rarities.

Happy find Joeri...congrats. Its a great feeling finding one of the rares that most collectors have on their wants-lists irrespective of condition as condition only matters if u already have one.
I agree with Idris that there are a good number of these extant and no longer top of the rares as the collector base shrinks. There are number of these Red Vauxhalls passing hands and some still hidden in collections. The problem here is that finding them in good condition-mint is quite hard as most have been played-with due to them being the 1st casting and having been sent to a tiny part of the globe.

Having had another look at the 45a baseplate, I think the reason the rear rivet post was initially too short is because the strengthening platform (immediately behind the tow hook) was added to the baseplate very late in the day. If so, this means there might, just might, be a red 45a out there with a different baseplate casting.
