This is a an example of any condition is worth having, because it is so rare and I would certainly leave it as it is.

Having a closer look I noticed it doesn't have the dash casting and what looks like a chisel cut rivet, would all genuine red ones have these features?

The 'Non-Dashboard' versions are the earliest recorded castings and all Red models should be like the One shown by "joerimoko". The chisel cut rivet I took as being done by the owner to keep the base on after a repainting session, which as we can see has not yet taken place, but I suspect the body and base were separated just to allow the body to be sprayed from a can instead of just hand painting with a brush.

To the best of my knowledge, the proper paint job (rather than overspray) on the inside of the casting is typical of the red 45a. Furthermore, I have seen what appeared to be a genuine red 45a with chisel-cut rivets. (The rivet post on the first-type body casting is fractionally too short to be successfully spun.) The complete absence of the dashboard brace and under-bonnet pips is also supportive of this this being a genuine red 45a.
