...and why are they registered users and online here now?
(I don't much like the idea of bots snooping around.)

Hi Alan.
They are "Spiders" and they are here to check for new messages so they can add them to their respective search engines, They visit every website but don't usually show up in the member list, They are normally hidden but do show up in our forum as we have not blocked them, I set up this forum late in the evening and never announced it until the following morning and the first member joined soon after, by then 30 odd spiders had already visited and scanned the site.

Oooo, spiders....Scary!
Thanks, Nick. I suppose it could be beneficial to be found on their search engines, as long as they're not getting our personal information or PMing us and the like. It's probably the norm these days anyway, and we just don't notice it. No biggie.

Let's fix that. I wonder how many clicks on the proper forum result it will take to move it up...nickjones wrote:lefora still has #1 position, for now, lol!.

#1 in Google now Tried without quotes in Bing, and Nick's home site is first, "Befora" (sic) is 2nd. Doesn't show the new forum index page. Tried with quotes there, and didn't show the index at least in the first page. My A.D.D. caused me to quit trying for now , but I'll give it a shot again later to try to move it up.
