Not at all matchboxkiwi, I like the unfinished Silver Shadow II prototype, ninth picture down, It reappeared later, (shown left) as a finished model with it's black bumpers and with a 'Coat of arms' image on the front doors! I've been chasing this model for a while, but cannot find out where it has gone, anyone know?

Ghosthunter,
That photo you show is one of mine from the series of photo's above.
It was never produced which is why you can not find it.
I guess it was done for the silver jubilee visit to New Zealand as that's our crest on the door. The photo is from 1977/78.
There was no Rolls Royce in the King Size range at this time.

I think one was issued around the mid eighties but it's completely different to this one.

Yes, I know the model was not produced as a production version, I was interested to know where that actual prototype went.

The later 'Kingsize' Rolls-Royce you mention, is the Silver Spirit, introduced onto the U.K. market in 1988, as model number...K 161, I sent a letter to Lesney suggesting they make this model and I was lucky, they did.

So, is that prototype, with the crest on the front doors, in New Zealand, in a private collection?

I should hate to think it was destroyed, needlessly.

Regards,

I have no idea!
The photo's came from an ex employee who was living Wales when I went and picked the photo's up.

That Rolls looks like it is a solid block of resin with plastic grille + bumpers + wheels added -few resins have survived today but it could be replicated by a professional model maker!!!
