# 25 Beetle question please.

Post by 4wsman »

Hi chaps..Newbie here.

I have 5 x VW #25 in the following variations.

Green glass gpw (x3)
Clear glass gpw
Green glass spw

Their boxes are 2 c type + 3 x d

Can you advise their relative collectability please, I have to cull my collection.

Cheers

Spelling on the base of each and their condition would factor in as well. Is the motor painted on any of them?
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Thanks Tinman.

They are all mint.

Spelling on bases is all the same i.e. "VOLKSWAGEN"

Engines are all grey.

Supplementary question..Do 'c' or 'd' boxes suit them all?
Thanks

PS As they say on another full size car forum."Its not true without pictures" :) So he we are...

Hi 4wsman, Welcome to the forum.
Could you show us a picture of the boxes, Particularly the D type boxes.

Welcome and some good questions. Photos ARE always helpful.
If you haven't checked it yet, I would suggest you also go to Nick's VBD Diecast Website (link at top of this page). Go to the 1-75 variation link and you can look at each model for variations and approximate value. It is a treasure trove of information and will probably answer many of your questions on individual models plus very educating as well as these forums are.
Enjoy,

Hi Wsman.
Thanks, The top photo shows a Pembroke Abbey trademark which is the printers that made this box
The second photo shows a Bowater Scott trademark a printing company who also made boxes for Lesney

You have 1 'B' box which has "Moko Lesney" printed on the front.
Also 1 'C' box that just has "Lesney"
And 3 nice 'D' boxes which are my personal favourites.

Thanks lot for the info Nick.

I assume that there is nothing at all that to see to distinguish any difference in age of the actual VW models?

I would have assumed that the earlier boxes are rarer/more 'collectible' ... or not so?

Cheers
