Crate Digging - Part One

Post by superfastkid »

Hi everyone!

Right, joining this forum has spurred me on to start looking through my crates, I have about fifteen of the shallow really useful boxes full to the brim with allsorts collected on my travels, some rare, some not so rare and some just plain odd items! Picked out a Junior filled crate and snapped a few of my favourites.....enjoy (and sorry about the dust and poor photography!)

Will have a look through some more crates when I get some time :)

Thanks Superfast, a nice start to the 'Crate Digging' project...

I have not seen the Blue N.S.U. Ro 80 before, very unusual, see plenty of the Copper-Gold and deep Lilac examples, but not that nice Medium Blue, definitely worth keeping and thanks for showing it here, I look forward to some more.

Thanks :)

Lots more to come.....The NSU was bought at a local car boot sale about twenty years ago, just loved the colour, still keeping my eyes peeled for a white one!

Very nice blue NSU. This is a setmodel, dont think it ever came on a card.
Same as the white one, very htf. And white one has also two different coloured windows, lt. blue and a very dark blue.
Looks strange and think, this white one was also setmodel.

The others you have shown are unusual colours from the 1983-84 Mettoy closure era, mostly seen in 2 packs to clear
heavy stocks at Corgi factory. On these cards many old advertising models without printing or stickers was sold,
many country specials from the german, swiss, danmark and arab series and also nice colour, base, interior and window-colours.
Also many special cards were used up with 2 models sealed on them and a special 2 pack card with Union Jack was specially
created. Nice time for variations.

It is fun to search through your own toys. I hope to spend a long weekend doing the same this summer.
