Sambrons are like buses

Post by superfastkid »

You don't see any for ages and then two come along at once :)

Both found at different car boot sales five miles apart, happened a few years ago but proves they are out there....

Nice catch, but please don't make a habit of doing this, leave some for other collectors...

Thanks Ghosty,

Kept both on account of the shade differences, packed away in a crate like most of my finds sadly :(

I noticed that...one is a pale Yellow, the other more of a rich Yellow, suggesting a large production run requiring at least Two supplies of paint or possibly one has a much thinner coating allowing the undercoat to influence the top coat.

It would be nice to see some of you favourite models from your collection, so when you get a chance to 'Crack Open' that crate, we'll be watching... :D

Turns out that the Sambron HQ was not a million miles away from the car boot sales in question....happened about four years ago and I've not seen another since (but check the sides of every one I see) :)

One is more of a Lemon colour, guess they just printed a random selection from the first few runs through the factory?

When I say crate I sort of mean about fifteen crates, ha ha! Will have a look through and get some photos soon, some oddball items from most of the major manufacturers in there, lot of run of the mill stuff too but all stuff I love!

It is often surprising what 'Gems' can be found among assumed 'Common' stuff, especially if good clear pictures are used and forum members spot something that needs to be singled-out or something needs to be looked at in more detail and we also like seeing other companies models products here, so don't hold anything back.
