RW08 A Carepillar Tractor

Post by Ergomatic »

Hi there,

My question is, what do you think about the tracks? It is so soft and the colour is so warm.

Thanks, Peter

My initial first thoughts are modern reproductions because of the 'Flashing' on the edges and yes, the colour looks too bright and newish (if there is such a word!!).

I gave up worrying about the tracks/treads years ago. It's rare to find original ones that are in decent condition. Most original tracks/treads are missing and/or cracked and/or hard and/or brittle and/or discolored at best. I've embraced replacement tracks/treads long ago.

Hi Peter.
I agree with Tinman here, There will not be many, if any original tracks at all in another 20 years, Most collectors are happy with reproduction tracks so there is really no problem, Your Crawler looks fine to me, could we see it from the other side so we can examine the axle crimps,

Hi Peter.
Your crawler looks fine to me, It is a very common model so there would be no need to restore one, You can buy a minter for under £5

Thank you, Kevin/Tinman/Nick!

Tinman, could you offer me somebody who produce/sell these reproduction tracks?

Have a nice weekend!
