Does any-one know where to find the scale of old King-Size models like this one?
I can't find it on my box.
I have many books but sofar I didn't find it.
Any information?
I need this for a list of models I am going to exhibit this summer for 7 weeks in a nice old vintage car museum.

This is given as 125mm and 1/58th scale in the mid-60's pocket catalogues.

How accurate this is I am afraid I do not know, catalogue specifications are not always accurate.

I have found them in the german 1967 catalogue, not in earlier catalogues.
All models I will exhbitit are now covered in scales for the listings.

That scale seems close but not quite correct. I would put it between 1/43 & 1/48 scale. The Taylor Jumbo crane is actually a Cole's Taylor Jumbo crane. The original Taylor model was built on a farm tractor chassis and had a one ton rating (a Fordson tractor if I remember correctly). They steer like a forklift (by the rear wheels) and drive by the large front wheels. When Cole took over Taylor, they improved on the chassis design and offered the Jumbo in a 4x4 drive for off road use and a 2x4 drive for yard use. It is not a road crane and has to be transported over roadways. In many ways (including size) the Jumbo crane is similar to the Iron Fairy crane. Despite the name "Jumbo Crane" it is a relatively small crane.



The Jumbo cranes can and were fitted to many different vehicles. Taylor's own chassis allows the crane to rotate 360* where some of the conventional truck applications have 180* rotation (or less). However, conventional truck mounts allow the crane to travel on the roadways whereas the Taylor chassis must be hauled on a flat bed trailer. They were also commonly fitted to early Scammell trucks and here's a photo of a Thames Trader with a Taylor crane.

That's way off for the Kingsize version.

I now took a look in a somewhat later (1968 catalogue) scale is 1:58.

The looked in the 1967 version again and indeed 1:58.
So it was a type-error from me.

I just noticed that in the UK editions of the older catalogues the scale of the models are mentioned.
