51c AEC Tipper question

Post by Cam »

I have this example of the 51c Tipper and the guide talks about the baseplate being thicker on the left or on the right which I have a hard time seeing even on the guide. This example seems to my eye to be level and straight. I would love to hear your input as your eyes are quite likely better and more experienced than mine.

If it wasn't for drugs, alcohol, and stupidity, I'd be out of work!

What you are looking for is the TIPPER base block, not the actual truck chassis. When the tipper is lifted and you look at the area of the 'A' and the lower part with C 1969 Lesney Prod.. you will see the gap is wider on the left or right alongside the protrusion for the friction block. An elderly blind man can see this variation on the Dump bed, LOL, you just were not looking in the right area. The chassis is totally uniform on all these Tippers as you now know.......kwakers
