#38c Honda Motorcycle and trailer

Hi all,
just noticed that there are two types of wheels/hubs at the motorcycle. I tried to show it in paint, too, hope you see what I mean.
Nick does not list this variation, what do others think?

P.S: I have some problems with my Photobucket account, so sorry for that.

interesting the two different wheels had not been spotted before, side by side the difference is very noticeable.

The same was done to the wheels on the 'Yesteryear' Y-5(B) Bentley and this is my diagram for that...

Does this 1-75 model share wheels with one or more YY's (like others do)? It probably does, and so the noted differences apply to more than one model (in more than one series). As such, the variation is likely documented in one or the other series but not always both.

I had not noticed this before,
I think Linus type 2 is actually type 1, The spokes were thickened to increase strength, I have a few 38c Motorcycles with wheels that have broken around the outer edge but they are all packed away at the moment.

I just had a quick view on a few YY that may have the same wheels, but can't find one. But I don't have many YY so maybe someone could check this

It seems that the #66 Harley Davidson shares wheels with the Bentley mentioned by Ghosthunter. Referring Ghosty's information that the same thing happened to the Bentley wheels, it may arises at the Harley, too.
I'am not sure wether the Triumph Motorcycle shares wheels with a YY.

That's what I was thinking, too. (There wasn't any order in my comparison pictures) But all my my other #38c motorcycles in later colour metallic green, does have type II wheels, lets say "the more detailed wheels" for better understanding.

I was thinking that the metallic blue motorcycle appears before the metallic green motorcycle...or does this early colour endures in the Superfast range, too?

i checked four bike i have without trailers cause i didnt feel like checking all of them i have...but i have 3 with the straight spokes and one thats tapered

Hi Brad. The pink & mauve bikes from the superfast era have tapered spokes so I was wrong, the straight spokes are the earliest.

Nick i just checked my orange trailers with bikes on them...(14 orange trailers)...i have a mix of straight and tapered spokes on them...but since these are two parts who knows if 100% of them are mated to each other from the factory...i have four of the earliest trailers without the ejector rings...but a mix of tapered and straight...unless there are different degrees of the taper thats what it looks like to me

one note...the bike i have without a dye number on the kickstand tab has tapered spokes...do you think they used more than one dye during the production run of this model?

i dont remember 100% on how many small lots to a large lots i bought where the trailer was there and no bike...so i went looking for a loose bikes and mated it with the trailer...i think i did this with at least 10 of them...so my data wont be totally true...i have 4 loose bikes at the moment that i saw recently that were so cheap i had to buy them i must be one of a few that has bikes with no trailer than trailers with no bikes

This is a model where empty trailers comprise the bulk of the survivors. That means a huge amount of bikes have been pared with trailers after they left the factory.
