A little bit of everything

Post by RSSierra »

Just picked up this little lot from our local auction site. I will pick up tomorrow and see just how good this lot is. Listed less than 10 minutes before I hit the buy now. Should be good.

Boxes contain original contents.....not sure what condition....up to now I haven't had any of these early models.

Better pics tomorrow assuming I can arrange pick up

Cheers

Two Rolls-Royce and One Bentley model certainly does make this a good lot! but I actually like the Corgi Dodge Kew Fargo stake truck, looks to be in pretty good condition, parked there all nice and proud.

...and what colour is that refreshments van behind the Vauxhall Cresta??

Ghosty.

Wow - lovely lot! The Morestone Scammell looks a darker shade of red than normal to me, although it could just be the pic or my eyesight....

Hello all

Pick up was successful. The seller is about to move into a retirement village at a sprightly 80 years of age. The majority of the Lesney's were part of his railway layout since new. All the other diecast, Budgie, Britains, Lone Star, Corgi and Dinky were also purchased new, the proverbial one owner lot.

They must be amongst the most well travelled toy cars in the world. Initially purchased in Tanzania, over the last 50+ years they have travelled with the railway set up to Kenya, the UK and finally here to New Zealand.

In typical Railway enthusiast style the models have been embellished over time with door handles, headlights and tail lights having been painted on some. Some were also given to the sellers son along the way and have ended up playworn, with a few repainted in the bargain. I'm very happy to have acquired all these. Just need to give the majority of them a clean, also I think I will try Tinman's starching / ironing technique on the Yesteryear boxes. They are complete with all flaps having just suffered a little crushing and a few minor rips.

A selection of photo's below, with a link to the album showing all items in this lot at the end.

Cheers

Dave

I can see a number of those that would end up on my shelf. Who makes the pink Plymouth?
