Aren't they powertrack cars
I think there's quite a few including the transit supervan

I thought that but there is no slot although it appears to have a motor.

It looks like these cars are designed to be a 'Drag Racing' set, with the cars fronts lifting up as the cars power down a straight track. The little grey peg at the back was for stability when the car was up in the air, so I don't think these ran on a powered track as in the 'Powertrack' system, the same Grey peg seems to be the source of power and looks like you push it in several times to generate some power.

Not sure Kev, had a Google to no avail.

You can see in your picture the design has a lot of weight towards the back of the car, very flimsy front wheels with no grip ability and the power unit is a modification of the 'Pull-Back' motor.

Does that Grey peg actually move in and out, to energise the motor unit and once it has, what happens when you put the model back on to a flat surface?

Found them Kev, they are Speedriders and take a small aaa battery.

Sorted Tim, its certainly not obvious in your pictures where or how the Battery is implemented, maybe the cars towed a trailer and the Battery was in that...

You many laugh, but many years ago, I saw a trolleybus on the road in Derby towing a generator on a trailer behind it with the cables hooked up to the poles.
