Have i become addicted

Post by birdy »

I have been collecting antiques for about 20 yrs now and have thousands of all manner of thing - I started out collecting clocks but branched out to collect almost anything , I had to stop or at least slow down as the house and garage are full . I started collecting model cars -Corgi - Dinky - matchbox etc about 6 months ago and i am now staggered at the amount i have amassed in such a short time ,I have lots of military examples i got the Matchbox mighty Antar with centurion tank and then had the urge to get the said model in several variants so i now have it in Corgi or is it Dinky - Kemlows - Matchbox etc etc and even have a plastic airfix example - That led me on to other military so i have 99% of the battle kings collection . I now have a collection that would fit in about 2 tea chests tightly packed and must have spent over £2000 where willit end ?

Perhaps it will end when you've collected them all :) Don't beat yourself up about it though because if you're enjoying yourself, then maybe it's just the excitement of a new hobby.

Sadly my collection is in the loft as there is not the space in house and her indoors is def not a fan and raises eyebrows whenever she spots new arrivals .I need to find some kind of filing system ie a set of shallow drawers or similar so i can often view - Are most collectors partners anti diecast collecting.I had the loft boarded and lit so its not a great problem to go and view the collection .I would love some shackletons but price is beyhond my means unless i can find on car boot sales etc where the sellers are unaware.
