Did Christian have his own copy of his pages which he merely uploaded to that site? In that case, recovery is possible. I hope his work is not lost.

A concern would be that the user password hashes were taken and will create username/password pairs to be tried other places.

Though I thought MCCH got special attention more from people who resented interference in auctions.

If the Christian you are referring to is Christian Falkensteiner, I believe it is a proper website and we still have a link to from this forum, so it should be safe.

I'm reasonably sure Christian has backed up his site's contents. IIRC, he built his site using simple HTML.

To Kevin, your assumption is correct, I am speaking of Christian F's web site. Christian's site is not affected by the hack but is hosted on the server which curtis rents. But, if curtis dumps the server (which he claims is quite expensive), then Christian's site will go dark.

Most of that "business" came in the form of harassing emails and complaints to ebay (which in turn would sometimes put pressure on curtis). However, there has been very little to no challenges to ebay sellers (fakers/fraudsters) coming from curtis or his web site in years. The only noticeable thing he's done and allowed is a constant running down of Mattel. He allows this since he was slighted by Mattel and they pulled out all presence and interest in his web site. When curtis split with Jim G., he began a campaign to post untruths and slander Jim. Mattel went with Jim and completely severed any connection to curtis and the MCCCP.

Besides, most fakers/fraudsters are not smart enough to take down a site and if they were, why wait until the place was nearly dead to do so. If the hack was a vendetta, I would look towards one of the many, many people who were rudely kicked out and banned for life. Lot's of very intelligent and highly skilled people in that group (and it's a large group). Some of those kicked out are quite savvy people who make their living in the IT sector.

If hackers choose to put extreme porn on links to MCCH then it looks like revenge to drive away visitors rather than any sort of commercial hacking. Having pissed off so many people facebook is the safest place for him to run his group and if rumours about FB are true, Mark will make a perfect NSA asset or even a patsy for a false flag! Perhaps he can be a key part in the next 9-11 / WW3 justification to enable Obama to stay in office and save amerika from Jeb + Hilarious.............

I would definitely go for the revenge attack - there is not enough traffic on there now to warrant a professional hack. Then again I think of what he did to me and wouldn't be surprised if he just stuck the links in himself to redirect to porn. One, he gains sympathy and two, he gets away with saying he had to shut down for whatever reason, cost or lack of interest.
Who knows with MC as he is a strange one and I personally would hate him as a neighbour as slightly psycho tendancies and never wrong. I had one or two visits and found absolutely nothing new and the MOY section was abysmal with just a few postings of 'look what I got' of the most common basic models - a very sad downturn of what it once was.

Yes a very unstable man imho, he changed my password so I couldn't log on but I still showed up as being a member when others complained why I was no longer on there. I mean wot sort of bloke does that ? If your going to ban someone then have the courage of your convictions and don't be sneaky about it. Shame really as it could have been a good site.

Some very good points there. As soon as I saw the porno links, I wondered the very same thing. We'll probably never know the truth and as usual with him, the truth is always a long way off from what he says.

He did the same to me as well as many others. This keeps his member count artificially inflated and also keeps him from having to try and explain why we are banned for life.

Sneaky and underhanded is his whole game, always has been.

Curtis has worked very hard to tear down the whole place. He alone is totally responsible for his fall from grace and for people leaving in droves. No one, I repeat, no one else is to blame but him (not even hackers).
