3B Bedford Tippers

Post by tractorboy »

This was a recent purchase (mainly for the good condition of the model & box).

Really please to then find it was a variation I've been keen to acquire - code 2 - without the exhaust bracket (hadn't picked that up in the listing photo).

Also picked up a nice grey wheel version - code 12. Came in a C box but swapped to D2 box as not sure which was the correct box.
Perhaps someone can advise if this one came in the C box.

Had a play around with different camera settings and trying to decide which is best.

Hello Roger, both pictures are very good, but prefer the lower picture, no background at all, that's just me and the way I like my pictures.

Nice tippers Rodger - the variation without the exhaust brace is very tricky to find. I have my code 12 paired with a type C box, but I matched them that way myself. IMHO, the FTGPW is too late for the C box, and would most likely have come in D2 or even E type boxes.

I recently acquired a very nice example with the small '3' on the base - a nice unexpected surprise - came from a small collection in Auckland. Must do some photos...

Cheers,
Gavin

Hello "Braintrust". I have been trying to run a Photography thread...Here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=96 with some hints and tips but so far I don't think I have covered real close-up images, have a read anyway, you might pick up something useful, but Macro or very close-up is something I will do for you ASAP.
