# 14 Lomas Ambulance

I noticed that the doors on this are 2 different colors was this a normal thing for Lesney to do? It can't be sun fade because I've had this for 48 yrs and it was rarely out of the box and has sat in a box with the rest of my collection for 40 yrs until I opened it 2 or 3 weeks ago. The only thing I can think of is that they mixed different doors together from different paint batches

Thanks for sending the link at least I'll be able to sleep tonight lol I guess it's the same with the rivet

...but essentially the mixing of components is the cause and your..." they mixed different doors together from different paint batches" ...is pretty much what is going on, just that the mixing is random and not on purpose.

The Lomas seems to be prone to this more than the other models in the range, but other models with opening parts are likely to suffer from the same problem with a bonnet, boot or door finished in a different shade.

Sunfade should affect both doors and the whole of the rear section around the doors, so I don't think this is the cause on your example shown in your picture.

I went to to the already discussed link and saw your explanation I'm happy but did anyone notice their rivet on the base is also the pure white color I thought i uploaded it but doesn't seem to be here will try again

If your concerned about the rivet colour being lighter or darker than the body, again this is common, the underside of the model including inside the wheel-arches etc will rarely have a fully finished surface, it is mainly just over-spray with a very light coating of the top-coat Lacquer.

The spray nozzles are not usually aimed directly into the body, but if they were, they are more likely to then fill the rivet cavity with a full coating of the body colour.
