I don't tend to post them on here as there's not much interest.

Most of us don't have enough knowledge about them to add anything to the conversation, so you end up with a few high post folks giving a "very nice" type response and not much else. For many of us, myself included, it would be great if perhaps you added a note as to what differences there are between your pre-pro and the issued version, that way we can all learn a little bit at the same time.
Rest assured though, we do love to see them.

Hi Chris,collecting prepros is a niche addendum to our hobby but not every collectors cuppa tea.There are some absolutely rare & desirable pieces to be had which clearly differs from the production models.These were produced in very small/tiny numbers hence the price differences.For certain rare prepros the demand outstrips the supply and double or triple premiums are materialized.
There are color-trials,body cast trials,base-trials with different cast/text,some without dates,incomplete dates,without patent details,without slashes/hashes,without model numbers/incomplete model numbers,wheel trials,windows trials,roof trials, etc,etc.
The key here is to arm yourself with pertinent info that would help u identify them at a glace and be able to decipher these true prepros against any fakes.
Christians site is exactly where one should start learning the basics and identifying them.

And regarding fakes look at Nik still's ebay listings as to how good they can be done, even removing dates and making plastic parts in prepro colours.... It's a minefield

Numi,
I know what they are.
The point I was addressing is the low amount of perticipation in these threads. Therefore, my suggestion was, perhaps when showing a SPECIFIC preproduction piece, it may be worth it to highlight the differences of that PETICULAR item.
To change your words slightly, the key here is to PRESENT US with the pertinent information so everyone can identify them. While Christians site is indeed helpful, the posts may garner more interest if actual differences are being shown. That's all.
