A couple of good months!

Post by hydra427 »

These past two months have been quite busy for me adding quite a few models. Hope you enjoy!

I know the 1C is the wrong box but just couldn't pass it up.

John, you have the ability of sourcing such excellent examples, many of which seem to be in mint condition from viewing them in your pictures. Is this something you set out to do or have you been very lucky and that's just the way it has happened for you.

Thanks for showing them and your pictures remain some of the best on the forum, I do enjoy looking at them.

Ghosthunter, Thank You for the compliment. I spend a lot of time looking for the right model and will pass up many before I pull the trigger. I am not afraid to spend a few extra dollars for that better model. It all goes back to my comic book collecting days when I was told to always buy the best and highest graded book I could find and afford as the book would increase exponentially compared to an average copy. Maybe not as true when it comes to a Matchbox but still makes them nicer to display and look at. My thoughts are why spend $10.00 for a chipped up model or something that has been carefully restored to fill a spot in my collection when I can spend $20.00 and get the model I want. I have nothing against a collector that will go this way but it is just not my style. I do spend a lot of time searching the internet on all the auction sites and have made quite a few nice connections for higher grade material. I was also very lucky that when I was groing up my parents always bought two of the same model, one for me to play with and the other to put away. Thanks again and happy hunting!
