Re: fiat 1500 with white luggage
Hello friends, I can say with certainty that it is not resin (I worked with it in the construction of models), sorry if the pictures have different brightness but not very good with my camera.I carefully measured the thickness baggage white , is equal in all its faces to 4 tan luggages. These are each marked by a different letter: E-i-S-F.Thanks(excuse for my english)

Re: fiat 1500 with white luggage
Now that "lesney0905" has given us some more mould numbers for the Fiat's luggage component (E,i,S and F,), I still think it is a colour trial moulding, given that the moulds would have been made and then used Alphabetically to start with, it seems logical they decided to try another colour for the luggage and the letter 'L' on the unit in question puts it in the later period of production for this model.
Do we know what other colours exist for the luggage, or is just the Two previous recorded colours of Red-ish Brown and Chocolate Brown, it would be nice to have more mould numbers from the underside surface and on what version Fiat they have been found.
The Fiat was introduced into the range during 1965, and it is interesting to see light coloured luggage on the first box artwork, shown below. This is the 'E' box without the 'R' by the foot of 'X' of "MATCHBOX" but during 1968, these boxes had the 'R' added, shown below. We still have the lighter luggage on the roof. Only when we get to the 'F' box do we see some darker luggage on the roof, unless there is an 'E' box I have missed, with the darker luggage and would like to see it added here, anyone!

So for my collection I can consider it a rarity?

I think so. (On the basis of the evidence presented here, I would be happy to have it in my collection.)lesney0905 wrote:So for my collection I can consider it a rarity?
