Two Benbros, one with dozer blade and one with scoop/ bucket
Note that the second one has a driver, I never saw a lesney dozer with a driver and as far as I know there is no way to attach a driver to the lesney, I wonder if any of the lesney dozers ever had drivers ?.

Re: Large Scale Bulldozer
The holes are a bit above the row of rivets - if you were to look at the dozer from the front the largest one is more or less in line with the right hand edge of the radiator. It's most obvious on the bottom photo.Moyboy wrote:Ewan - the row of holes along the blade are not holes !!! They represent rivet heads so for God's sake don't scrape the paint off !! As said before, very nice find.Ewan wrote:As reported last week on the old forum, I found a large scale bulldozer in with a joblot of Dinkys on ebay. Postie delivered the goods today
This is it straight out of the parcel, I'll clean it up (gently) and post better pics in the Large Scale and Yesteryears section if that would be of any interest?
The row of holes along the lip on the blade appear to have paint inside them so I assume it left the factory like that?
Re: Large Scale Bulldozer
There is a losoe driver for the bulldozer and tractor. It is the same casting as the Prime Mover driver except painted tan and without the attachment sprue running from the leg. There are two castings, one with and one without the large triangular boss (which I thionk acts as a distance piece in the Prime Mover to keep the driver away from the window) on the right hip.nickjones wrote: Two Benbros, one with dozer blade and one with scoop/ bucket

Re: Large Scale Bulldozer
As luck wouyld have it, a bulldozer with driver recently soild on Ebay (here).
Unfortunately I only seem to be able to copy one of the photographs and apparently the file size is too big to attach. (Nick, any chamce you could tweak the site secttings so that we don't get these probelms in the future?). Anyway, please inspect the Ebay listing before it's deleted and hopefully it will give you an idea of what the Lesney driver loooks like. It's been a while since I last found one but, like milk float and rag & bone cart horses, they do crop up in trays of miscellaneous figures at toyfairs, so keep your eyes peeled,

Re: Large Scale Bulldozer
The holes look like "poorfill or misruns" casting faults, just where the die didn,t make the casting properly.
Heres a couple of old pics of mine
I really need to do some up to date shots,i am pretty sure i have 3 benros ,two blue and a red but can,t remember how i am doing for lesney, still need a red dozer lol.

Re: Large Scale Bulldozer
Agree with Dave, probably a casting flaw. All crawler dozers had the driver - and is smaller than the milk cart/ R&B cart driver
Collecting these early toys gets addictive though - you can see the crawler driver in 2nd pic
