No I just wanted to tell all of you that there is this model for sale - and I wondered how fare the price will go.
I´m not a Matchbox expert thow I won´t be able to see the difference betwen a real model and a fake.

Sorry I wasn´t thinking about that.

sorry I did not provide an earlier update on this:

I returned this model to the seller several months ago.
When I informed him that the No.6 was fake, he (not-surprisingly) expressed surprise. I was not concerned about his reaction as much as I was concerned about my refund, which he did provide.
Be aware that in addition to the GPW Euclid, I also returned to him a crimped axle reverse-wrecker which he had sent me to examine. With the help of some knowledgeable collectors on this forum who excel at identifying 'fakes', I returned his 'lunchbox-special', as some of the details raised questions.
Even though this seller returned to me what I had invested in the Euclid, 2-high-value fakes from the same person is certainly concerning.
I won't be shopping here anymore.
The blood of these 2 fakes are off my hands, should they end up back in circulation.
J

(I have been checking regularly----this seller has had no e.bay listings in several months)

Thank You Jason! The Seller in question has made some of the best quality Lesney fakes I have ever seen. His story to me a year ago was that he was just a train collector who bought some Lesneys he knew little about at an Estate sale. Believing his words, I knew he must have run into an old collector's treasure trove. After buying and receiving a couple of tougher models from him cheaper than your perfectly done 6B GPW, I knew he was in fact a train modeler with the skills to make these high quality fakes, and a line of bullcrap a mile long. They would fool most any expert Lesney dealer or serious collector today who examined them very closely, so he is a very dangerous Seller. You know the quality I am talking about Jason, and Forum members were able to see how perfectly those painted wheels were done in your Super pictures. That fake was so perfect it was on your shelves for 7 months until suspicion was raised by a Forum member's comment. Thank You for the update Jason, and congratulations on your refunds.
Please watch carefully for a Train collector in Lebanon Pennsylvania, U.S.A. on E Bay. Now that Jason has his refund, any further questionable Lesneys this Seller offers may now be featured in a Post by either he or I.
E Bay rules do not prevent us from discussing his fake models in an E Bay linked Post......kwakers

Hello Fixer! His future offerings that are questionable will be discussed here in detail with an appropriate link to that sale. Please note fixer that kwakers was not 'tricked' into buying any but a single original group of used models the Seller offered on E Bay last year with a very rare SPW model well hidden in it. In my study of this craftsman, I purposely have bought 3 other group lots to examine 3 other perfectly modeled/repainted and detailed Lesney models, and I am still studying another 'perfect' rarity I bought from him privately. The Seller is unaware of the fact that I have found a handful of his crafted and restored models fascinating to study these last nine months. Patience Lads and Numi...

If this guy really did stumble into a cache of good stuff- we may not see any more from him. Its my bet, that if he is indeed making these things- he will put them up for sale.

Here is what alerted me to the Seller being more than just a lucky Estate sale Buyer Choobox. He told me that he really had no knowledge of Lesneys at all after I bought the first lot from him, he was 'just a Train collector'. The hidden silver plastic wheeled model in that group I bought from him he had purposely told me had common GPW on it when I questioned him in an E Bay message. When I received it, they were the 'rare' silver plastic, but they looked wrong to old kwakers in both their outer diameter and their perfect finish. I got a reasonable deal on this whole lot of NMint later models, but also found an original 20A that was perfectly 'restored' in it. Perhaps the Estate sale was that of a 'Faker', or just 2 fakes in it I thought??
There were two other groups I picked out to study and buy, and one had a non existant 8D Silver plastic roller Cat Crawler as it's 'Front' model. That model was so perfect, only a tiny spot of tacky paint, and those 'perfectly' painted rollers gave it away. If the rollers had been left black, and the paint given another week to dry, ANY expert would have been fooled by this perfectly restored 8D Cat, even under the closest examination.
Jaskelrod's Post on the 6B came only two weeks later, and I recognized the expert workmanship on that GPW 6B immediately. I have known Jason as an E Bay Seller for several years now, and he has helped me with many needed variations over that time. Seven months earlier, Dykastpa had told him that the rare 6B was out of a collection he personally had from years ago. So, 2 collectors, and two totally different stories Bill had given us. A bit of the best hocus pocus restoration magic on Lesneys from an expert train modeler was bad enough, but 2 'different' tales of his life's stories out of his mouth to Jason and I? Shame on him, but now he has left us without any doubt as to both his character and his own guilt in being the source of these quality fakes.
I will continue my study of this man and his future Lesney offerings, and I will always cherish my 4 'perfect' fakes from this Seller as of today. One is perhaps so well done, even kwakers cannot prove it is fake as of yet. Bill has sent me back to school after 51 years of carefully studying Lesneys..... :? kwakers

It is amazing how much phony stuff is out there. After 17 years toying around with toys- I have found several faked or touched models. Stay vigilant, boys-{and girls}.
