Hi George.
I think the whole die set for the canopy was recut twice because the first two were unsatisfactory. so it is debatable which came first,
To convert either one of the curved canopies into the other would have meant adding metal to the dies, it would have been much easier to cut a new die from fresh metal.

Well Nick, I think you are mistaken about this model. But as neither of us can prove what we reacon, I guess it will lie in limbo I don't know what other collectors thoughts are on this one?

Hi George.
I did originally have them listed in the order you say but reversed them when I got lots of collectors saying they were the wrong way around, The fact that you can't recut either version into the other still remains so the original dies were scrapped and new ones cut, so we'll never know for certain which one came first.

Re: About the rarity guide
Hi Nick,
When you add casting number 2, please will you include a split between 4-spoke and 5-spoke wheels on the gold Superfast trailer?
I've only ever seen one tiny photo of the 5-spoke model and that was without a base shot. I'd like to know if I'm chasing a legend.
Thanks
John

If this forum is abandoned due to lack of interest or not enough clarity, I think we should delete it instead of cluttering up the site with dead or abandoned forums.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Hi Misterpop.
That is the common straight canopy version, still it's getting hard to find so it's quite desirable.
