If you dont need the cash urgently its a good idea to collect items that you actually like especially if the low prices you may get give you the feeling that you are wasting your time selling when they make a nice display in 1 small cabinet and remind you of how you came by them.........Tubby wrote:I have a few days off work coming up and apart from the list of repairs that the wife has posted on the wall I will have some time to look at the cars and re-consider. Tubby Can i suggest you seriously consider keeping all the Matchbox models you have and start collecting more!!!
It is a wonderful hobby and you will learn loads from the Forum members including some of the pitfalls that collectors can fall foul of!!
BTW when i clean cars I use a small modellers paintbrush dipped in warm not hot water to remove dust from cracks and crevices - I dont emerse the whole vehicle unless they have dirt inside because the result can be dried water marks inside the glazing which is unattractive.
