What do I have to do?
Only two small steps to be part of the event:

1.) Book the hotel using the code “MatchboxTreffen“ to get the special reduced hotelrate.

2.) Let us know that you are coming !
(at mccd@moyshop.de)

Other options for a visit for collectors (without stay at the hotel)
Dayticket for programm on the saturday april 18th from 10.00 - 15.00 hours: at 3 euro
Or a two day ticket for the saturdayprogramm and the sundayprogramm from 9.00 - 13.00 hours: at 5 euro

If you need a table for selling models on the swapmeet at the hotel please contact us at: mccd@moyshop.de
There is limted space for this so it is recommended to settle for this soonest.

Why we have choosen for the city of Aachen again?

The first MECA weekend was held in 2011 at the same hotel and was a great success with people attending from all over Europe and the UK.
The hotel fits perfectly in size and is located within walking distance from the old and nice centre of Aachen and is just perfect for all attendees. The city of Aachen is near the German/Dutch and German/Belgium boarder.
incl. the possibility to use the nearby airport.

Why was there a bigger break after the 2012 meeting near Dusseldorf?

After the second meeting the attendees agreed to have a show every olther year.
In 2014 the UK collectors planned their show so that we moved into 2015 and will plan the next event for 2017!

Great information Marcel, it surely will be a great event and I'm sure we have some forum members who would like to go, but sadly do to various reasons will not be able to do so. So Marcel, if you yourself are going, will you please be our representative and our eagle-eyes and bring back some good pictures and any interesting stories you feel will entertain us...!

Many thanks.

My hotel room is booked, and I already put some quite unusual Matchbox items into the dinner auction.
If this convention is in your reach, you should go there and be part of it!
After MICA (aka Matchboxclub) nearly ceased to exist, the MECA convention took the place as being the most important Matchbox collectors convention in Europe!

I fully agree with your comments Kay, as many collectors as possible should support events such as those featured here on the forum and any local collectors should pop-in, even if they have not booked anything before hand and if on the door they can convince staff they are collectors, then they should be allowed in for a nominal entrance fee, the more the merrier.

I just can confirm I will do another exhibtion there on saturday april 18th with items from my collection.
I hope to see as many collectors as possible there during that day.

Remember the great exhibition I did in april 2011 at the 1st MECA show with a beloved presentation on pre 1970 shopdisplays.
Dirk said we will be in the same room now so please all atend and come to see more of my collection....

In 2011 collector names like Holger, Dirk, Kay, Matthias, Johan, Nils, Bon de Graaf and many other Collectors did atend.

Greg,

you know I always try to focus on the good stuff......but I also try to keep in line with one of the golden rules of collecting - "Just look, don't touch!" :)
So, honestly, this is the picture I took:

Yes, that's the one you can show on the forum, but what about the others you took while adjusting the focus and light settings...
