He has the only green 20a that I know of...

I am aware of two others, one of which I understand to be mint. However, I have seen neither of them and have no idea whether they are genuine or not.

The ERF is part of a large private owner collection being sold by Vectis, It includes a least 3 curved canopy road rollers, an 11a tanker with side decals, a yellow 15a prime mover, a two tone blue 27a bedford low loader, a tan interior 39a zodac, an apple green 43a minx, 45a victor without dash brace, 59a singer gpw dark green, two pink 74a refreshment canteens, two moko builders cranes, four large scale cement mixers, a large scale bulldozer plus 200-250 (approx) reg wheel commons and not so rares and all are mint and boxed, I would think as it is coming from such a nice collection it is more than likely genuine.

I've been thinking about the above and, whilst I'm sure that what you say is true, it is also true that the models mentioned are "merely" htf/borderline rare. However, the pale green 20a (if genuine) is an ultra rare model - a holy grail as it were. As if that weren't enough, it is mint too (and you all know how cautious and suspicious I am when it comes to mint rarities). Where are the other really rare models, like a cream 62c Cougar or a metallic green 23b caravan?
All I'm saying is that I find it incongruous that such a rare model, and a mint example at that, should be found in a collection which otherwise seems to contain only common rarities (if that's not a contradiction in terms).
I'm not saying that it's not genuine. It may be and, in time, we may be able to move the balance of probabilities in that direction. It's just that i) the colour appears to be off, ii) it is mint, and iii) the rarity of this item sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison with the rest of the collection.
I have only ever heard of one mint, pale green 20a and that went for an awful lot of money. It seems to me unlikely that a genuine example should have ended up in this collection.

Easily removed (especially if stripping and repainting the model).

It seems remarkable that Vectis would risk damaging its reputation by putting such a rare model as its star lot if this turns out to be a fake. Does anyone know who the vendor is in order that we can try to obtain some antecedent information directly from them?

What reputation? They've made tens of thousands from fakes in the past. I'd treat any rare offering from Vectis with the same caution as anything from e-Bay or anywhere else. Just because Vectis are selling something is far from a guarantee of authenticity.

I agree with Nick on this point - any collection built up or frozen pre-ebay will only contain the models that the collector was able to source at an affordable price.
In fact More mint and boxed than my organically grown collection which contains at least 5 but less than 10 Lesneys from ebay but the rarity of of my 2 best ( reverse 13d + YumYum Lotus ) sticks out like 2 sore thumbs in comparison with the rest of my collection !!
Vectis would probably refund any winner of this truck if he found evidence it was a fake or custom even if in the past they rely on buyers being too ignorant to spot fakes........

Except that's not what Nick said. At no point did he use the phrase "pre-Ebay", neither did he imply it.

Pre-ebay is my own words added to the pot!
I am only agreeing with Nick that this is most likely genuine based upon the photographic evidence. I judge each model on its own merits and the other items owned by the same person are irrelevent to my judgement unless that seller owns some good fakes !
